British Airways faces record £183m fine for data breach
The BBC website has reported BA faces a fine of £183 million for a data breach in September last year.

As the previous fine was under the old legislation it is a significant increase on previous fines, the highest amount previously having been £500,000, which was the maximum imposed.
Obviously BA's fine is a percentage of global turnover as it exceeds the 20 million euros standard limit.
It shows the ICO is prepared to fine organisations and that the fines can be significant - you have been warned!
