European General Data Protection Regulation

In recent weeks I have been receiving quite few enquiries from schools and other businesses about what they need to do with regard to GDPR, a piece of legislation that will come into force on 25th May 2018. Although this is EU legislation the UK as a nation will not have left the EU prior to its introduction and will be undoubtedly be required to comply with its terms in order to obtain national trade agreements with former EU partner nations when we do leave.

General guidance on the regulation can be found at the ICO's website:

https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/data-protection-reform/overview-of-the-gdpr/

I am currently working on ways to educate organisations regarding the requirements of the legislation and developing a range of services to assist with a smooth transition to comply with the terms of the GDPR. If you are worried by the prospect of GDPR, are not sure what it will entail or want to start your preparations feel free to get in touch so we can discuss your needs and draw up a coherent action plan.
